MPAC is proud to announce it has received a $3,940 grant for Summer Arts Enrichment at Patriot’s Gateway Community Center 2022 project. The grant was awarded by the Community Grants Program of the Community Foundation of Northern Illinois with support from the Dr. Louis and Violet Rubin Fund.
Specialists in visual arts and music will lead activities that provide students with arts enrichment through multi-cultural lessons July 11-15 and 18-22, 2022 at Patriot’s Gateway Community Center, a recreation center in near-southeast Rockford that provides a variety of learning activities in a safe and caring environment. Each week will culminate in a fine arts field trip. On July 15, the group will visit the Mendelssohn Performing Arts Center for a performance by harpist Nanette Felix. On July 22, they will visit the Rockford Women’s Suffrage Plaza and learn about the history involved and the art of mosaic. Because of the Community Foundation Grant, MPAC is able to offer this valuable arts experience to Rockford’s youth.
