Frequently Asked Questions

What does General Admission mean?
Seating is first come, first served as soon as doors open. (For groups of 10 or more, please contact the office regarding any special seating requests.

Who qualifies for student tickets?
Student Tickets are available to persons 25 years of age and younger who are currently enrolled full or part time. Students may be asked to show a valid student ID.

I purchased Will Call tickets.  How do I pick them up?
Will Call is available when the doors open. Will Call tickets must be in the name of the ticket purchaser or recipient. You may be asked to present a valid photo I.D. in order to pick up tickets.

 

Are tickets transferable or are they personalized?
If you would like to transfer a physical ticket to someone else, simply provide them with a hard copy of your ticket. If you are gifting a will-call or mobile ticket, please contact the office prior to the concert.

How can I book tickets for bigger groups? Is there a special discount?Group discounts are not offered at this time. For groups of 10 or more, please contact the office at least two business days prior to the concert to request any special seating arrangements.

Do you have seating for people with disabilities?
Yes. Our Auditorium is fully accessible; our Reitsch Room is partially accessible. Please order accessible seating tickets, and call the office if you would like to make any specific arrangements.

What payment methods do you accept?
Payment can be made via cash, credit card (VISA, Mastercard, Discover, American Express), or personal check.

 

I ordered my tickets in advance and asked them to be mailed. When will they arrive?
In most cases, you should have them the week before the date of your concert.

When do advance ticket sales end?
1 to 2 hours before the performance start time.

I lost my ticket. What can I do?
If you lost your ticket, please contact us, and we will send it to you again.

Where is Mendelssohn Performing Arts Center?
We are located at 415 N. Church Street in Rockford, Illinois. Our parking lot and patron entrances both face Church Street.

 

Where should I park for the event? Is there a cost?

Parking for all events at Mendelssohn Performing Arts Center (415 N Church St, Rockford) is free in our well-lit parking lot.  The lot is located on the left (east) side of Church Street and on the north side of our building.  Street parking is also available along Church Street.

What time can I arrive for the event? What time do doors open for a performance?
Doors open 30 minutes before the performance time. Latecomers will be seated as the performance allows.

Where can I pick up a concert program?
We distribute free programs at the door. The program gives details on the music to be performed, artists, and other information to enhance your concert experience. The program is a souvenir with information about our future concerts. We hope you will support the advertisers and sponsors listed in our program. Their support helps keep ticket prices affordable.

I am not able/do not want to attend a performance for personal reasons. Is it possible to cancel or exchange the tickets?
Ticket sales are final and non-refundable. We encourage you to gift your ticket to a friend if you are unable to attend the performance.

An event was canceled/postponed/relocated, is my ticket still valid? Is it possible to cancel my ticket?
Should MPAC decide to postpone an event or change a venue, the ticket remains valid for the new date, respectively the new venue, regardless of the reasons for shifting. If a concert is rescheduled or canceled by MPAC, you may opt for a refund, credit or consider your unused ticket a donation.

How will I be notified about a postponed or canceled performance due to bad weather?
If the decision is made to reschedule or cancel an event, ticket holders will be notified via email and notifications will be posted on our website and Facebook page.

May I bring a camera? May I record part of the performance?
Most Artists prohibit recording and the use of flash photography.

How do I volunteer for the event?
Please visit our volunteer page.

Do ticket prices cover the cost of MPAC’s expenses?
Ticket sales alone do not cover the costs of our programs. Support from donors and sponsors allows us to continue bringing quality music experiences to our community at affordable prices.
