Charlotte’s Web Series
The NIU Gamelan Ensemble, under the direction of Alex Yoffe is a student performance group from the School of Music and Center for Southeast Asian Studies at Northern Illinois University. Gamelan, a percussion-dominated genre, is the traditional ensemble music of Indonesia. An integral part of the country’s culture, gamelan often accompanies religious rituals and other important ceremonies.
Preconcert Demonstration: This performance will include a special pre-concert demonstration of the instruments provided by the members of the ensemble. Demonstration begins at 6:30 PM, followed by concert at 7:30pm
